I had the pleasure of attending the Hold Fast Contemporary Art Festival in St. John's, NFLD and performing a brand new work, "Consumption Therapy Chamber". I performed this work 4 times throughout the night, trapped inside an inflatable bubble, immersed in donated plastic packaging materials, tumbling and rolling on the grassy area outside of Eastern Edge Gallery. For more images of this project, check out the "Performance" section of the website.
I was also able to host a great workshop where I led a group in making their own zero-waste sandwich/snack wraps. This workshop also acted as a drop-off point for people to donate their collected plastic packaging for me to use in the project.

I am excited to be the first exhibitor in the new Allied Arts Council Project Space at CASA!!
For this mini-show I have paired a selection of some of my 2018 thesis work with a few studio sketches that I have created over the past few months. If you are in Lethbridge over the next few weeks, come and check it out!!! I am excited to announce that I will be heading to Eastern Canada to do a couple of art projects...
First off, I will be one of five artists participating in this years interaction of Hold Fast Contemporary Art Festival in St. John's, NL. I will be presenting a brand new performance piece, "Consumption Therapy Chamber". I am really looking forward to exploring this part of the country and meeting some great artists! I will also be hosting a workshop while I am in town, where you will be able to make your very own 'zero-waste' object. This workshop is FREE but you must register ahead. Follow this LINK if you are interested. From there I will travel to Burlington, ON to install my piece "Garbage Party". This project is hosted by the City of Burlington Public Art Lab and will be among several other outdoor, public art installations throughout the city. It will be up from Sept 27-Oct 26, 2019 and The Hobbyist will be performing on-site from Oct 22-25. Stay tuned for updates about these projects! I look forward to sharing them with you! |
