I am thrilled to announce that my work is included in a recently published peer-reviewed journal, tba: Journal of Art, Media, and Visual Culture.  This issue is full of great work from many artists and writers and showcases a myriad of ideas about plastic and its pernicious hold on our society.

My contribution includes images and writing about my project, Surface all the way through.  Check out the entire journal here.

If you are in the London, Ontario region, check out the exhibition opening and issue release event happening on February 29, 2024.

I have included a PDF file of my contribution below :)

in a greenhouse

On September 9th, 2023 I installed a small selection of my work in a greenhouse in Calgary, AB.  in a greenhouse is an ongoing exhibition series curated by Logan Lape and I was thrilled to be a part of it.

It was on view for a gorgeous afternoon in a residential area in Calgary where many great times were had.  Thanks to everyone who came to check it out!

As part of the exhibition, there was a limited edition run of risograph postcards printed by Yolkless Press with a beautiful poem written by Eliza Fernand that was created in response to my work and a conversation we shared about art, craft, plastic, and life.

Bench and Garbage Can Cozy in Sackville, NB

I am so excited to share images of this project with you all!  This Garbage Can Cozy and Bench Cozy were created as part of Umbrella Projects in Sackville, NB: a joint venture between Struts Gallery and the Owens Art Gallery at Mount Allison University aimed at helping artists to realize their dream projects during the pandemic.

These custom knitted cozies were installed on existing infrastructure in a public park in Sackville and were fully put to use during the one month install period.  The seat of the bench was cushioned with a pad I made from plastic packaging waste and clear PVC.

My goal with this project was to insert some visual excitement and laboured care into a situation that is usually so standardized and lacking of either.  Hopefully more of these installations can come to fruition in the future... stay tuned!
